I am a Motswana national, born in Francistown. Growing up, I spent a lot of time in hotels, due to the nature of my father's work, which is when I developed my passion for hospitality.
I went onto study in South Africa, then moved to London where I enrolled onto the hospitality management program at Westminster college. My time at Westminster college provided me with curiosity, a lot growth and a drive to pursue my career in hospitality. As a student, I worked part time as a waitress, which taught me the importance of training staff from the offset and the need for a united team with a common goal to ensure exceptional customer services. Westminster college has produced stars such as Jamie Oliver, who have been my inspiration.
I have over 10 years international hospitality experience in various hotels and divisions of the Radisson Blu group in London. This provided me with exposure to all facets of hospitality, cultural awareness and has provided me with the skills and knowledge to deliver high standards of customer service. The areas I have trained and worked in are in reservations and events and banqueting. Since my return to Botswana, I have worked as the rooms divisions manager and front office manager at the Lansmore Hotel, which has provided me with further experience.
The hotel industry in Botswana is growing and I am really glad to be a part of it, I am hoping I can play my part in shaping this. I'm thrilled to be a part of the Indaba Lodge family.
I am excited to have the opportunity to lead the Indaba Lodge team, I look forward to working with a united team to achieve exceptional standards! Indaba is a stunning property, in a perfect location with modern amenities and a fantastic team that is here to serve your needs. Indaba is the ultimate place to stay and I look forward to continuing to grow Indaba from strength to strength. Outside of my time from Indaba, i dedicate my time to my lovely 4 year old daughter.
Irene looks forward to welcoming you to the Indaba Lodge Gaborone soon
